BBNG hint towards precision with DOOM, Ghostface Killah, and a “Ray Gun”

Toronto based jazz trio, BADBADNOTGOOD, are no strangers to hip hop.  In fact, it was their early interpretations of hip hop tracks that drew the attention of Tyler, the Creator.  Since their debut album in 2011, BBNG have worked with Earl Sweatshirt, Danny Brown, and Frank Ocean to name a few.  Their latest project in the making, Sour Soul, will be a full length that features none-other-than Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah on every track.

Slated for release in the U.S. on February 24th (apparently the states are left in the wake of an international release date of Feb. 23), the LP has been said to feature Danny Brown and Elzhi from the Dilla days of Slum Village.  However, what may, surprise some is the appearance of the Supervillain, DOOM, on the recently released track “Ray Gun”.  DOOM and Ghostface are hardly strangers as evidenced by their previous collaborations on the yet to be released DOOMSTARKS album and the JJ DOOM track, “Keys to the Kuffs”.

(Editor’s note:  According to a quote from Pitchfork.com back in 2/13, Ghostface Killah hinted that the DOOMSTARKS project may finally see the light of day as it had emerged from “off the fuckin floor”.  Sadly, DOOM is notorious for sleeping on highly anticipated projects, most notably, Madvillainy2).
